So, I surprisingly really really enjoyed the first Twilight film. So obviously with great anticipation I was awaiting the arrival of New Moon, of course I had the script, but I wasn’t going to spoil this for me.
So, how was New Moon? Well, let me start off with the good. Kristen Stewart actually (to me) seemed more comfortable in her role this time around. She wasn’t as stale. she did a good job in my opinion. I now can buy her as Bella. Taylor Lautner…didn’t do much acting. Yet at the same time I thought he was played the part of Jake well. So he was alright. Robert Pattinson again is good as Edward. Team Edward everyone..I don’t like the character of Jake that much. The graphics on the wolves looked a little fake to me at first, until Jake (in wolf form) stood on a rock by the ocean or whatever. I saw then the graphics were actually done well. Oh by the way-it’s a really funny movie.
The fight scenes were highly entertaining. The scene near the end at the Volturi (Or however you spell it, I haven’t read the books.) was great! The slo-mo made it more fun and everything. That was the greatest part of the film.
Alright, so what was wrong with this? Uh..it took way too long to get going. WAY too long. It’s only a little over 2 hours, yet it feels easily longer than 3. The two hours that went by after the film, seemed quicker than the film itself. Dakota Fanning was in there as Jane for like 2 minutes. I wanted more than that!!!!!!!!!! A few of the acting seemed a little stale, but I’m glad 2 of the lead actors were good. I was ready to call the film “just alright” until it really picks up. that saved the film for me.
Did anyone else notice that it seemed in one scene that Edward’s face was CGI? and he wasn’t shining or anything, he looked normal but his face looked so animated. It really is very entertaining at times.
Overall, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is a good film. It’s entertaining in parts and has some good acting. It takes way too long to get going, but we feel for Bella so that is a plus. Part of me wants to call it a great movie, part of me wants to say it was alright. But I did end up enjoying it.
