I loved JJ Abrams version of Star Trek and am definitely on board for a sequel. And apparently so is William Shatner, despite attacking Abrams for not including him in the first film. However, after actually sitting down and watching the film he has a change of heart, and has recently had lunch with Abrams to return for the sequel.
Thanks to The Daily Express for the news:
Shatner says, “They did a wonderful movie. J.J., I think of him as a buddy, he’s a great director and I’m sure when the right time comes he’ll make the right decision (and cast me).”
I find it pretty funny that he attacked Abrams for not including him, and used that as an excuse not to see that movie, and he even turned down Abrams offer to return in the sequel. But, now he says that he wants to returns.
To be honest, I never like Shatner, and would much rather have Nimoy come back as Spock one last time. And Star Trek 2 is supposed to use time travel again, so it could work.
Would you like to see Shatner return in Star Trek sequel?
