Re-shoots are usually never a good thing. And its always assumed that it means the film sucks, but the studio is trying to fix it. Well, it this case it seems that the film is getting re-shoots because the studio was pleased with the work from Leterrier, and is increasing the budget for the film.
These re-shoots are also happening to fix the “creaky parts”.
Sam Worthington was interviewed at a special screening of “Avatar”, and had this to say.
Thanks to comicbookmovies:
“We’re going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it, they cut loose with some money so we can add to it,”
Worthingon continued, “We’re going to be shooting more scenes in January, so we’re going to be right up against it — the movie comes out in March.” “There were some creaky parts but they are the parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is also letting us add some gods and scenes. And they’re talking about making the movie a 3D film.”
3-D? Ugh. Its gonna be close if they shoot it in January, but I’m fairly confident they will make the deadline.
I wonder if they are going to add more scenes of the Kraken or the giant scorpions(damn I love those).
What are your thoughts?
