There is always going to be some group of stupid people that make a bid deal out of nothing. Avatar, New Moon, Transformers 2, Passion of The Christ, Angels and Demons are just among the few that know this fact. However, this mostly happens when a big movie has already been released, but this time its before the film has even hit theatres.
Well, some family groups in Australia are among the first that are going to attack the anticipated comic book film, Kick-Ass. Here is one of the quotes from those protesters.
Thanks to ComicBookMovies.com:
“I would like to express my concern for society when a film this morally bankrupt can just open in Australian cinemas with nobody doing anything about it. Seriously if you came into my house and came out with filth like that I would be outraged as certainly all God-fearing Australians should be knowing that Hollywood exerts greater power over our children than we ever can. If the media won’t help then I shall take it upon myself to petition for the film to be banned. We don’t need this garbage and anyone reading this should not be laughing but deeply concerned for the direction a film like this is taking us in.”
I can understand why people would get upset about the actress playing Hit Girl cursing. However, ITS JUST A MOVIE. I can tell you kids today have said far more foul words, than “cunt”. The film has an “R” rating for a reason, you know?
I wonder if these protesters ever took into consideration if the actress’ parents had any problem with this. Well, obviously not because her parents wouldn’t have agreed to have her cast if they did.
This outrage is just gonna serve as free publicity for the film, and will have little effect on the film’s box-office, if any.
What are you thoughts?
“Kick-Ass” will hit theatres on April 16, 2010.
