Man, I feel silly that I didn’t see this film in the theaters. It wasn’t playing there, and when I went to see Inglourious Basterds up in a different theater, it was playing up there, but my father wanted to see Inglourious Basterds more. So I ended up having to wait till DVD.
And I can’t believe I waited so long. This movie freaking rocks!
I’m a little crunched for time so I’m gonna get out what I loved about the film:
The theme of racism and hatred towards others is remarkable, something you don’t normally see in alien films.
The acting is superb, mostly from actor Sharlto Copley, who’s name I’ve given up on trying to pronounce.
The visual effects are outstanding. Some of the best visual effects I’ve seen in a while.
I loved how the film begins as a sort of documentary and then becomes like a regular film.
The film is a masterpiece from beginning to end and is one of the best Sci-Fi films in a long time. It explores themes of racism, backed up with gorgeous visual effects and incredible story telling. Go see it now.
