I have yet to see Sherlock Holmes, but I have heard many great things about it. Well, it was announced that Guy Ritchie was going to direct the live-action adaptation of DC’s Lobo, and there is also plans of a sequel to Sherlock Holmes.
Its now reported that Ritchie is dropping Lobo and moving forward with Sherlock Holmes 2.
Thanks to ComingSoon.net:
“I don’t think he’s going to do it now,” Silver, who is producing both properties, said. “The studio wants us and Guy to focus on making another ‘Sherlock Holmes’… So we’re trying to see if we can do something quickly with another ‘Sherlock Holmes’ movie. We have some ideas and some good story points.” Silver added that they’ll likely go with another director for Lobo.
He expects everyone to come back for Sherlock Holmes 2. “Downey loves the experience of playing Sherlock and would love to play him again, and I’d love to see him play it again. Jude and all of them will be back and it will be great.”
It seems to me that they are rushing the sequel, but then again the film was hit. And it makes more sense to me that he would do another Holmes film when Lobo isn’t even that known, shit I had to do a fucking wikipedia search to find out who that character was. Although, from what I read the characters seems pretty lame, and boring.
So, from a business stand point it would be smarter to go with a film that would be sure to bring in an audience.
Are you disappointed that Ritchie won’t direct Lobo? And, who do you think would be a good choice?
