I’m one of the few who had a lot of fun with Stallone’s Judge Dredd. Sure, it is difficult to say that with a straight face when he had Rob Schneider as his sidekick. Never-the-less I had fun with it.
It was announced back in September that there was going to be a remake of Judge Dredd. Now, the creator of the character discusses the what we can expect the remake to be like.
Thanks to Comic Book Movies.com:
“I have read the script by Alex Garlan (28 Days Later) and seen Jock’s (The Losers) visuals,” Wagner told Mtv News.
“While I can’t go into detail about the content I can say that it’s high-octane, edge of the seat stuff, and gives a far truer representation of Dredd than the first movie.”
Wagner also went on to talk about how he felt about Stallone’s film, “I hated that plot,” he said. “It was Dredd pressed through the Hollywood cliché mill, a dynastic power struggle that had little connection with the character we know from the comic.”
I do agree with him that the film was cliched, but I still had fun with it.
The fact that it wasn’t close to the comics didn’t bother me, because I never took the time to read them.
All I can say for this new film is NO ROB SCHIEDER!!!
Are you excited about a Judge Dredd remake?
