Last week it was rumored that Christopher Nolan, who created like the greatest Batman films to date, would be “god fathering” the new Superman film. He wouldn’t be writing or directing the film, but MENTORING. Anyway, it was already met with approval from fans, who think that Nolan should be able to do any film who wants to after making only two good films.
Well, now the president of DC Entertainment, Diane Nelson, says that’s not true.
Thanks to Comic Book Movies.com:
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” she said with a laugh. “We don’t have any plans about that, and as I’ve mentioned, in the coming months we’ll be making a lot of announcements about what our content plans will be. But right now, that’s nothing but rumor — and we frankly don’t say a whole lot more about rumor than that, so…”
LOL, first its they will be making a big announcement in January, but now its in the coming months.
I’m glad about this news. To me Nolan is the most over-rated director in Hollywood right now. The only films of his that I even enjoyed were his Batman films. And “The Dark Knight” is the most over-rated film of the last decade.
The other reason that I’m happy about this is that Superman ISN’T Batman. What Nolan has done with the Batman films is amazing, but that doesn’t mean he would be a good choice to do a Superman film. Also, he would most likely try and have the films crossover, which would DESTROY all the realism of his Batman films.
I do wish they would announce something soon, because I do want another Superman film. Although, it will most likely be a reboot.
