We’ve all have these moments. There are movies that have people divided, and many of those will be on this list. I get in a lot of fights with many people over many films, and this is the ones I get in fights over the most:
Okay, yeah, I liked Titanic, and not just liked, I LOVED IT. Yet there are so many haters out there who make comments like “oh, it’s a love story!” Who fucking cares? It’s a good love story. Now if you wanna see a bad love story, go check out Pearl Harbor. Titanic is one of the biggest films of all time, and for a reason. Everything, from the acting, the visual effects, the sound effects, the story, even the romance, are done PERFECTLY. This is the movie that made me fall in love with films, so if you don’t like it, whatever.
I haven’t seen so many people divided over a movie since Revenge of the Sith came out. So loved this film, yet so many hated it. There’s been many criticisms: the running time, Silk Spectre’s acting, Dr. Manhatten’s lack of clothes (yes, it shows his penis. Get over it), and the list goes on and on. Look, the running time was just right for the film’s story, and it fit what the graphic novel gave. Also, if you can’t take seeing male genitalia, but are fine with boobies or female full frontal nudity, then that’s just your immature problem and you need to get over it. And Malin Akerman was not that great, but she wasn’t terrible. I still consider Watchmen my favorite film of the year (not the best), and I think in time people will accept this film more.
3. THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT
I could not go without putting this on my list. First off, I just wanna say that I LOVED Blair Witch. It is the one movie that I watched and couldn’t get a good nights sleep during. And of course, along with the other movies, many people, including some in my family, hated this movie. Everyone complains about how you never see the witch, but that was the point. You don’t see the witch because the people recording this didn’t see the witch. It makes the film scarier, and makes it a classic.
Unlike the others on this list, this is a film that I truly don’t care for. But as soon as I start talking shit, Twilight fans are there to defend it. Well, keep trying to defend it, because as huge as the fan base is, the books and movies have always gotten mixed reception.
5. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN
Yeah, this has been said many many times now, but did not like No Country. And I have been picked at and picked at about it. This film won Best Picture of the Year, but I still say they should have given it to There Will Be Blood or Juno. Many people love it; personally I just found myself bored and uninterested.
7. THE STAR WARS PREQUELS
Everyone’s pretty much leaving but yeah, I loved the Star Wars Prequels. No they aren’t in any way, shape or form better than the original trilogy, but I actually really had a lot of fun. Plus, if watch the actually films in order, you’ll see everything connect. Plus that Yoda fight in Episode II was KICK ASS!
So what about you? What movies do you love or hate that get you into fights?
