In an interview with Art Director Roger Christian by UK site Shadow Locked, he talked about what direction Ridley Scott wants to go. Besides the film being shot in 3-D, he also hinted at the idea of another trilogy.
Thanks to ComingSoon.net:
“Ridley’s doing the next Alien in 3D. Ridley told me some of his ideas when we were here in Toronto. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there’s ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I’m hoping he’ll revive another three. The world certainly wants it, and the fans want it – everybody.”
I’m sorry, did he say “the fans want it”? Because from what I’m hearing many of the fans(including myself) are upset with this prequel. Sure, there are some who want this prequel to happen, but not all.
This is just another reason for me not to see this film. I love the Alien franchise, but this prequel is gonna ruin the character. The best part of the Alien is that you don’t know where something like that comes from, and you don’t want to know. Prequels rarely workout and giving it an origin is gonna destroy all the mystery of the creature.
I really don’t see how they can do another trilogy, but I guess that all depends on where they want to go.
Seeing the creature in 3-D may be cool, with the double mouth in all.
What do you think of another Alien trilogy? Or about the prequel in 3-D?
