I’m sure that after the previous film, everyone is just dying to see the next installment in the Transformers films. And, I’m sure everyone just loves the new designs that Bay came up with for the Transformers.
Okay, enough of the sarcasm. If you didn’t like the new designs that Bay came up with for the Transformers, then you probably won’t be happy to hear that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be changed for the upcoming sequel. Although, its only gonna be a slight change to each character.
Animation Supervisor, Scott Benza, were interviewed at the Visual Effects Society Awards on Sunday.
Thanks to Sci-Fi Wire:
“Our two lead characters, Optimus and Bumblebee, needed to be updated for the next chapter in the Transformers series,” said Benza. “Bumblebee’s matured a little bit, so I would just say look for subtle changes to his physique that have him look more mature.”
“[Prime will have] little tiny things that maybe the average viewer isn’t going to notice but probably the fanboys will,” Farrar said. “You actually will run into pieces that are maybe always in the way, and wouldn’t it be nice if that part wasn’t there? Maybe you make a shift in the shoulder, in the chest or what have you. So it might be proportioning, but it also might be for usability, so [the animators]’ task could be easier, too.”
Benza continued, “We always want the robots to look cooler than they did the last time, so he’s going to look a little more heroic, I would say,”.
Meh, I just hope we can tell what the hell is going on this time. The first two films were so cluttered that you couldn’t tell what the hell was transforming. It almost seems pointless to have any changes if you can’t make out whats going on.
I almost kind of find it ridiculous to have Bumblebee look “mature” in a film that’s probably gonna have a lot of immature humor. I also find it ridiculous to see a robot age, but we did get Jet fire. If there’s anyone who can make something ridiculous work, its Michael Bay.
To let everyone know this will indeed be my LAST post on this website, farewell.
What do you think?
