How To Train Your Dragon is the best movie of the year. In my opinion “Shutter Island” is also the best- but theyre both better at different areas.
Shutter Island had a lot of things DRAGONS didn’t have.
But Dragons was very touching and emoional story and the way it was told was phenomenal. I mean, WOW. The surprise movie of the year. I walked in expecting a normal Dreamworks movie, and walked out having seen a movie that outdid most of Pixar’s stuff IMO.
But there are bad news:
“2010 is off to a strong start, thanks in large part to the performance of How to Train Your Dragon, which – having grossed nearly $375 million to date in worldwide box office – has become DreamWorks Animation’s next franchise. We plan to release the sequel theatrically in 2013,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation. “3D continues to have a tremendous impact on the industry at large and we are now looking forward with great anticipation to bringing Shrek Forever After, the final chapter in our beloved Shrek series and the first in 3D, to audiences across the globe next month.”
“And the Academy Award for worst decision of the year goes to!” ::::drumroll:::: “DREAMWORKS ANIMATION!”
Why do I hate this idea?
Because leaving the story where it ended in the first movie worked SO PERFECTLY, and it was SO TOUCHING. And now we find out that they keep going? UGH!
The ending of this movie was goddamn PERFECT. It was majestic. I cant discuss it without spoilers, but i can guarantee that it fit like nail on a cross.
I am so sick of cash grabbing sequels.
p.s. I LOVE YOU TOOTHLESS!!!
