Paranormal Activity is much like Blair Witch Project. It feels real, it had a huge hype, and they are both really scary…the first time around. After that they still feel scary, but you get kinda bored through most of it. The one thing that pissed me off about the marketing for that movie was the ending was in the fucking trailer, same with Quarantine. But still, that doesn’t take away from the fact that it was a well made film.
Of course a real trailer for a sequel was released about a week ago, and of course it was a tease, but it was a really good tease. However, from hearing about this news, you might think that the trailer got pulled from theaters because people didn’t like it. And according to The Movie Banter they didn’t…because it was too scary.
My two cents: This is a good thing. If a minute long trailer can scare an audience enough to get them to complain about it being there, you must have made a pretty good movie. This boast up my anticipation, it doesn’t lower it. Hopefully this will be just as good as the first film. But let’s hope they find way better endings.
And for thrills, here’s the trailer:
