It’s been awhile since we’ve heard about Ghost Rider 2 (and it’s been awhile since I last saw you…sorry, had to go into song), though it was rumored awhile back that Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor would be directing the “The Spirit of Vengeance,” which its screen story is written by David Boyer and is written by Scott Gimble and Seth Hoffman. It was also unaware whether or not Nicolas Cage would return for the sequel. Both these questions are now answered.
/Film stated today that Cage had premiere on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and [Cage] told him that not only were Neveldine/Taylor chosen to direct the picture, but he was to return as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider.
Unlike many people in the world, I didn’t loathe Ghost Rider. It’s definitely one of those best worst movies that I’ve ever seen, and I didn’t think that Nick Cage did a bad job in it at all (he was in fact the second best actor behind Sam Eliot). Plus the idea of them bringing the directors of Crank to direct this film is awesome. They could bring a nice edge to this film and make it a fun time. Plus maybe a scene will take place in a Chinatown market with Eva Mendes in it…we can only hope.
