We’ve waited for Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” since he announced it last year. The trailers looked promising, so how was it?
Leonardo DiCaprio was amazing as usual, he nailed it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great but you know who really surprised me? Ellen Page. I thought she would do well but she knocked it out of the ballpark. Aside from Leo’s performance, I was most impressed with hers. The story is reminding of the Matrix, but it’s still probably the most original film of the year. The graphics were AMAZING.
I did enjoy the wife plot, I thought it added more bulk and reason to the story, and Cobb. There’s one emotional revealing part towards the end when Cobb revels some things, and that was a nice twist. Cillian Murphy was good, Micheal Caine was good…this was not your usual movie, way more impressive. I think part of why it works was because it has reason to it, and mystery. The climax is awesome. The dialogue is good, I enjoyed the concepts too.
At times I did feel like I was watching Shutter Island, but it doesn’t ruin anything.
Nothing. NOTHING. I can’t think of anything negative here and it’s been 20 hours sine I’ve seen it.
Everything clicked. You can’t really compare it to Dark Knight, they are two different movies on two different levels. I enjoyed this more though. Inception is the best movie of the year, over Toy Story 3 which was amazing.
10/10 from me for Inception. I want in Nolan’s imagination.
