I’m in the minority of people who actually liked the original Ghost Rider. Sure it was cheesy as hell, but I still really enjoyed the film for what it was. Nick Cage was actually really good in the film, Sam Eliot was beast, the action scenes weren’t bad and even with a horrible ending that was just selling tickets to the sequel before it came out, I still really am looking forward to the sequel. Especially with the directors of Crank on board.
Today, Screen Rant released the official plot details of the film:
The Ghost Rider sequel is reportedly set several years after the first film and finds Johnny Blaze in self-imposed exile from the world. Blaze has become a tormented soul, convinced that his powers are a curse – which makes him completely different from every other superhero ever conceived (*cough, cough*).
Former stuntman Blaze is then approached by Moreau, a member of the monastic order of Michael, the warrior angel. Moreau seeks a protector for a mother and son duo (Nadva and Dannv, respectively) who are being pursed by a figure named Roarke – a fellow with a detailed knowledge of the Ghost Rider and his “… different identities over the centuries.
I’m liking the idea that Johnny Blaze is regretting taking the vow he made, and hopefully this version will be a heavier hard R version and way better than the goofy (but fun) original.
Yes I just admitted to you all that I like Ghost Rider. Let the vegetables fly!
