As many of you know, Steven Spielberg has been trying to make a film about our 16th president Abraham Lincoln, and I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now. Unfortunately the film has been delayed for some time, and Liam Neeson, originally slated to play Lincoln, has dropped out because he’s “passed the sell-by date.” It would seem that the idea of making this film might be coming to an end. However, that is not so.
According to Cinematical, Daniel Day Lewis has signed on to play Lincoln. The film will be a “focus on the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War.”
Of course whenever you have a film with Daniel Day Lewis on board, it’s bound to be a huge Oscar contender. While the film is far from finished, from even production, I’m still looking forward to it greatly, especially with DDL on board.
